Promoting Clean Energy Transition, Arsari Tambang Launches ''Envirotin'' as Environmentally Friendly Tin from Indonesia

Indonesia affirms its commitment to play a greater role in the global clean energy supply chain.

Through PT Arsari Tambang, part of the Arsari Group, the company has launched an environmentally friendly tin product called Envirotin, which is claimed to be produced using low-carbon technology and renewable energy.

Arsari Tambang President Director Aryo Djojohadikusumo said that the world is currently undergoing a transition to clean energy, and tin has an important role to play in this.

“The world needs infrastructure like tin. Not for food cans or other products, but for electric cars, renewable energy, and advanced technologies such as semiconductors. Indonesia has great potential,” said Aryo during the launch of Envirotin at the Minerva FunFest 2025 event at the JICC, Jakarta, Wednesday (10/15/2025).

According to Aryo, tin from the Arsari Group is produced through a low-carbon process using electric furnace technology that utilizes renewable energy sources from PLN, such as hydroelectric power plants and geothermal power plants in Sumatra.

“Why do we call it environmentally friendly tin? Because it is produced through a low-carbon process, using electric furnace technology with renewable energy sources. This emission-free electric furnace technology is in line with ESG principles and efforts towards net zero emissions,” he explained.

Envirotin products, Aryo continued, are not just mining products, but proof that Indonesia is capable of leading the green metals industry in the global market.

“Envirotin is not just a product, it is proof that Indonesia can compete in the global market. Not only mining, but also leading with environmentally friendly products,” he said.

Aryo also mentioned the use of Indonesian tin in various high-tech products, including luxury electric vehicles such as the Rolls Royce Spectre, Rolls Royce's first electric car that uses nickel and tin from Indonesia.

“Imagine, someday we will use cell phones, laptops, or electric cars with components sourced from Indonesia. From Envirotin, the work of the nation's children. So even though the goods are imported, the heart remains Indonesian,” said Aryo.

Arsari Group hopes that the launch of Envirotin can be a concrete step towards the downstreaming of a sustainable mineral industry and support the vision of “Green Innovation, Advanced Indonesia”.

"The launch of Envirotin is the first step toward a green future. We believe that with green innovation, we can realize our slogan: Green Innovation, Indonesia Advances!
Let's work together to promote downstreaming that is not just a concept, but real action," he explained. (*)
